Hey all!

There are a few of us that want to go camping in Jan.  There are at least 2 votes for electric sites.  I am vote #3 for electric.  Pine Grove KOA is open all year, and there is another KOA in PA that's open all year at the Delaware Water Gap.  http://www.koa.com/where/pa/38101/  I have never been there, just throwing out ideas, trying to think of a centralized location.  Tracy also said there are a few PA SP's that have electric.

Soooo....

#1: who's willing to go camping and when?

#2: is it worth even making reservations?  If the weather is bad and/or roads grimey, I know I will not tow.  Shall we just play it by ear once we decide a place?

Pine Grove would work for me.  I still have the one night free coupon, so it makes the price better.:)

I am game for just about anything ( place/date ).  The only weekend I know that is out is the first full weekend and we will be planning Tylers B-day party soon so I am all for picking out a date in advance.  So I will throw out the weekend of January 13th and see if that sticks.

copcarguy

Tracy, can you email me that coupon again?  The only deal showing online at Pine Grove is 50% off a day of camping.

IIRC, that coupon we used last time was valid till April??  I'm open for Pine Grove again as well.  I guess since Tracy said Pine Grove, I like the log cabin bathroom, and Scott says he's game for anything, I will just make it official and say we're going to Pine Grove.  I know andym86 and jazman were interested as well.  Where are you guys?

tlhdoc

That is a long weekend for me, so if the weather is good that will work.:)

Hi Guy's
Would love to go in January. The 13th is ok,but I would second Rick's
suggestion and keep it open, depending on the weather.
I don't mind cold or snow, but rain would really suck.
I'm sure we don't need reservations and hopefully we can get the
spot on top of the hill again, close to the log cabin bath house.

I am ok with the cold, but I don't want to tow in the snow and NO rain this time of year.  I would never get the camper dry again.:)

OMG!  I log on to wish my fellow COTOC's a Merry Christmas....I see the post about Jan camping....maybe in the Pocono area no less....I am thinking my friends are "nuts"!!!!!!!!!!!

I vote everyone who posted to this thread even considering camping in Jan "The Hardiest Campers!"

I could NOT even imagine...I am shocked I don't see Paula posting to go....maybe she will later this afternoon......

Hi Debbie,
Last year we camped in February and the temperatures were down in the single digits over night.  Paula does not do cold weather camping, so you will not see her on the list.  Your A liner is insulated, why not join us?:)

I have a "one night free" coupon (thanks Tracy!) for Pine Grove if anyone would like me to email it to them. Just print it out and bring it with you. It says "coupon must be printed and not redeemable with other discounts", but last month I handed it to them with my KOA Value Kard, and got 10% off AND a free night! I really hope we are able to go weather-wise... I vote to have the pot luck in the restaurant there. I also do not think I can get that Sunday off, and I do not think Stephie can get that Fri off, so I might come alone or with my Dad Thursday night right from work and leave late Sat night after a fire... I will have to check this out as it gets a little closer.

PS - I would like to put "dibs" on site Q44 or Q46 please, if they're available.

I know you said be prepared for a lot of propane ( I will be coming with 2 full 30lb tanks ) but I just wanted to check if there is going to be electric on at the sites? I think the resturant would be a great idea for the Saturday Night Pot Luck. So far I haven't found my coupon for KOA so if Rick or Tracy can email me a copy, I would appreciate it. Since I have never been there I am open to site recommendations.

copcarguy

Hey Scott - I'm leaving for work in 5 mins, so I'll email you both the coupon and a CG map tonight when I get home from work.  All sites are full hookups in the section we usually are in.

dademt

Thanks, I got them and made some copies at work in case anyone else needs them.

Unfortunately I think they have family obligations that weekend but I will ask them when they come over on Saturday.  ( Anne and I use to work together, not anymore ).  I know for sure that February is out for them.  They are still in for May so that is good.

I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful New Year and may God grant everyone health, happiness, and much camping ( ok, the last two tend to go together ).
