Maybe this will work?

A nice view from Idyllwild, Californnia.

I took this in Alaska. I don't know why, but I really like this picture.

I like the Alaska image too, but it could use just a bit of Photoshop-ing.

Here is what I would do:

First, I would level the horizon.
Then, I would crop some of the wake off the bottom, so that the horizon is only 1/3 up from the bottom, not halfway.
Third, I would reduce the blue cast slightly.

Sometimes, after reducing a color, I find I want to increase the color saturation a little.  I would have to see it, then decide.

If you'd like, I can give it a try and show you the results.

Yes, Austin. Please do give it a try. I'd love to see what you're able to do with that photo.

Right now I only have Photoshop Elements 5 on our XP machine. However, I'm thinking really hard about getting an iMac and CS3.

Here's what I came up with:

Austin, very nice. Thanks for doing that. I do like what you did to the picture. Most of the time I forget to make the horizon level. I'll try to remember to do that.

Do you ever go to the Elements site http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/ and/or their forum site? http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/forum/

Sometimes, making a small shift like that can really mess an image up, so be careful.  :yikes:

NO!  I already spend way too much time on the web; please don't give me more sites to visit or forums to read!

BTW, now that I'm looking at the image with my el cheapo monitor at work, I can only barely see the color difference in the dark areas.   :(

Hello Austin.

I already spend way too much time on the web; please don't give me more sites to visit or forums to read .................. If that's the case, you'll want to stay away from the Elements site. I check it twice a day and really enjoy it.

BTW, now that I'm looking at the image with my el cheapo monitor at work, I can only barely see the color difference in the dark areas ............... I didn't want to say anything, but that was my feeling too--on our laptop. If I can get my wife off the desktop, I'll have to give it a look on the good PC.

I'm thinking real hard about switching from our Windows XP to an iMac with CS3. The thing that's stopping me is the money [about $3,000]. My wife and my sisters think I should make the switch, but I'm not sure yet.

Here are both pictures side by side.

I do see a difference with the color, but it's ever so slight.

Here's a picture I took just outside Yosemite National Park.

A friend's granddaughter who works for NASA sent us these pictures from the past mission.
