Dee - I am looking in to your non-camping question, I want to give you the best answer I can.

Also, Sequoia - Lodgepole campground is 240 miles from the center of Los Angeles city.  About 4 hrs 30 min.

Wish you could join us!   :morning:

Thanks..I knew you were the right person to ask.

oh that's not that far...just not do-able this year.  maybe after you have so much fun you will plan the next one right away.. :sombraro:

Camping in Sequoia on Labor Day weedend would be nice if you don't have school aged kids but if you have them, Labor Day weekend is not the time to go.  Our school starts the day after Labor Day which would be too much to handle getting the kids ready for the next day.

yes Labor day doesn't work

well I  realized "after" making the labor day plans, Kevin has a 1/2 day mandatory orientation where they take their pics, get ID cards etc before Labor day :banghead:  depending on what day and how early we leave I may have to send him home via train. Last year the  Sophmores were on Friday

maybe we can make it our "meet in the middle" rally for next year

griffsdad

I can't make this rally - have fun guys!!

We have about two weeks until our mountain adventure!  Let me know your thoughts on the following activities.

Potluck

darksiders

my friends that will be joining us are Ed & Tracey and Diane & Joe.  Tracey and Diane are sisters. (they're sharing one campsite) You've met them before, they have done day trips to visit us.
They were asking me about food.  Since we're doing potlucks, do we want to do a theme or fill in the blanks to make our meals?
So, I guess we should figure out the main courses and go from there.
What about Sunday?  don't we want to do potlucks for bk & dnr, too?

I know that Wes & I want to do the the cave.  I'll talk to the Arney's & Fernicola's to see if they want to go and let you know.

Hey Harald,

For the breakfast potluck we will bring Monkey Rolls and for dinner I'm thinking of a Tamale/Chili casserole and watermelon.
