Have done the search thing but can not find how to attach our "tacky Lights" to our awning.  They are just patio lights that we got from McFrugles today.  They are little lantern shapes with ten bulbs for 8 bucks.  The wires are just like the ones used for Christmas strings.  I am going to use an inverter eventually since they are made for 110 volts.  Just want to get some suggestions on how to put them up.

Thank you,
John

I got some tablecloth weights with a "beach" theme (shells, starfish, etc.) at the Dollar Store.  I use those to attach the lights.

Those x-mas light holders for eaves, gutters, roofs also work - slide onto awning fabric (sides).  I have those but generally just use a few clothespins.  There are also suction cup hooks for x-mas lights (got a pack after x-mas) but I haven't tried them yet (thinking of front rail of canopy/awning).

Since we have patriotic tacky lights, we attach them to our aluminum front frame with standard plastic red, white, and blue plastic spring-loaded clothes pins.

nice, we just ordered a couple sets of tacky lights the car and trailer set and the garden gnomes..  wondered how we could hang 'em up there... thought that some sort of shower curtain hooks might work too.. but since the pop up is still in the midst of the snow I haven't really had a chance to see how it might work..

When we put them up, we use binder clips sold in any office supply store (or the office/school supply section in many stores).

Clothes pins are cheap, easy to find and do the trick

We use binder clips or chip clips.  Works great!

I was thinking railway spikes and crazy clue might do the trick too... do you think it would be overkill though?

we use some clear clips that look like small clothespins that attach to the light wire, we gotem at a campground store somewhere, they are rather fragile though. I also had a friend who put grommets in the flapping end of his awning and hung his lights with S hooks, I've kinda been thinking about this route, grommet kits are cheap and easy to do.

yeah I thought the railway spikes would be overdoing it...  I could use drywall screws instead...   Those spikes are killer to pound in with that 25 pound maul over your head once the awning is up anyway...    :#  :-()

I think clips or grommets or just getting my kids to hold them up there all night would work just fine

Binder clips from the office supply store can rust.
We use plastic clothespins.  We have coordinating colors for each set of tacky lights.

Thanks too all who have gave us some good tips on how to hang our lights.  I will go to the dollar store and see if I can find some plastic clothes clips or something like them to use.

What is it with you Canadiens and railroads?  Every since Gordon Lightfoot put out that Candian Railway Trilogy?  Just kidding put away that Hockey stick and the Lord Calvert bottle.
