I am not a weather guy (they don't even get it right) But summer ends in Aug/Sept. So normally October is a nice month, but there is no guarentee's. This is a Sccampers rally and you know how we always seems to bring out the best in mother nature  :D
So I know that Barstow is closer than Lake Isabella  ;)  are you taking a site or wussing out  :yikes:
hahaha wussing out!  Well I never wuss out... Shayne on the other hand   he's like "Barstow in October! Woman is you crazy"! hahahahaha  Anyway I couldn't get an answer out of him except his disappointment that I didn't get us a beach spot for the other trip  :p

Well Shayne and I agree on something  :D

Gracy I am going to take you off the list than and if you guys decide to come let me know at that time.
I don't want to hold a spot if you can't commit

Totally ;)  Thanks and if he comes around I'll see if there is still a spot available :)

We're interested in a spot.

When we stayed at this KOA:

1.  The pool IS NOT heated.  It was FREEZING when we went and it was in May.

2.  Most of the campground is full-hookups (not sure about sewer) and they do have some small tent sites on one end of the campground.  I don't think they would hold more than 1 tent.  I'm not sure if they would allow tents on RV sites.

They also have a small, cute western type play area for the kids.  My kids loved playing there.  Be careful of splinters.

This was a nice campground but did have the noise from the highway.

Full hookups.
Pool heater was awaiting parts/repair when we visited last Nov.
MAYBE: Too soon to commit to this rally, but would like to go back again.
Understand the owners are new/newer, we had a good experience.
Expect the weather will be cool.
There is also a county campground with hookups at the Ghost town, looked upgraded/near new, a bit cramped, all dirt and no shade.

NEVER know about pools at these places we have stayed at the Calico CG and it can be pretty bad if the wind comes up it's in a canyon and the wind really rips through there. They are running a camping deal along with camping price you get admission to calico and the Maggie's mine and train ride I think.  The weather in Oct will most likely be nice during the day and starting to get a little chilly at night blanket weather.  Oct is one of the nice desert months so sign up and join the fun......You do realize this is a SCCamper event and anything can and does happen one thing for sure we always have fun.......

What I understand is that it is very difficult to get sites at the Calico campground and it is extremely cramped there too.  I guess, if you want to expand a bit, you can set up camp at the Cemetery's parking lot.

Don't forget to add me to the list.

Would you please put us down for a spot......We wouldn't want you to be the only PUP there.

Gracy

Okay go ahead and put us down for a spot too. :)  Thanks

Hi Brad,

Its a little to far out now to commit right now, but put us down on the waiting list for now.  We are actullay about 2 or 2 1/2 hours from there, not to bad. We would have to pull our trailer through Tahachapi which isn't to bad of a drive. Its alot prettier than the Grapevine....:)
