PopupnutDon t worry!  I loved turning 40!  In my late 20 s and then 30s I was busy with little ones and stopped working to be home, etc.  I loved every minute of it.  But my kids are now teen and " preteen"  ages and all of a sudden you realize they aren t home anymore, they re busy with school and sports, etc.  Suddently there s time for ME!!!!!!!  I turned 40 and welcomed it because I feel I ve entered a time in my life where it s time to focus a bit on what I want to do!  I went back to work in something I was interested in for a change...vs. taking the job because it worked around the kids schedules, etc.  I ll be 42 in March and I m saying bring it on...I m ready!!!   I ve hit a new confidence in my life and feel great.   Now..if I could only go camping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Popupnutdon t let it get you down just rember 2 of my fav. sayings.

  1. you have to grow older but you don t have to grow up.

  2. the one who has the most birthdays lives  the longest.[:D]

PopupnutMy DW just turned 40 a couple of weeks ago, and I had a lil fun with it (like lying in bed talking...I told her I felt so old cause my wife was turning 40.<smack> The bruises will heal.)  She says she doesn t feel any different, and she ll always be 39 in my book.  Age is a state of mind.  Me...I m in training to be a crotchity old man.

PopupnutI feel for you......I m turning 50 in May and I don t like it one bit. The only thing I like about it is that.....I will have three grandchildren by May. My last son gets married in October 2003 and my job as a mother will be done and I m still young enough to take my grandchildren camping......so I guess life is grand. As long as you have your health that is the only thing that is important.[:)][:)][:)][:)] Happy Early Birthday!!!!!!

PopupnutDon t feel bad, I am old enough to be your father. [:o]

PopupnutTwo verses from country songs to remember

 1. I m much too young to feel this da** old.
 2. I m old enough to know better, but still too young to care.

Happy 40th! (from a 42 yr. old with three teenagers and a grand daughter)[8D]

PopupnutWell, today I turned 48 and really am having more fun now than when I was half that age!  The older you get the more you learn what is most imporant in this world and you find yourself more focused on those things and making time for them!  Have fun and celebrate your upcoming new decade with excitement with what life has yet to bring and you will teach those younger folks that life only BEGINS at 40!

PopupnutPopupnut-  Here s some final words of advice from 94 year old Grandpa Morris, who, when I was lamenting the fact that I had just turned 30, told me: " Boy, don t sweat the little stuff. Growing old is a privilege denied to many."  That was well over a decade ago... R.I.P. Grandpa, I still miss you.

CamperJones-  Congrats and Happy B-Day!!!  (And if I may say so, you don t look a day over 39! [:D] )
