I was just looking at the Yucaipa rally and thinking how far away it seems. Would anyone be interested in maybe doing a mini-rally like 1/30-2/1 or maybe the next week 2/6-2/8? I don't know when superbowl is but do this the weekend that the superbowl isn't? Let me know if anyone is interested and I will look into finding a place. I think that wherever we choose it should have hookups (for the heaters) and fire rings. I was trying to think up a new place that we haven't been to that isn't too far away for everyone. A couple of places I was thinking of was:

1) Canyon RV Park--Anaheim Hills
2) East Shore RV Park--San Dimas. (We have stayed here twice and it is not too bad. The bathrooms got a little gamey but at this time of year it shouldn't be very crowded.

If you have any other suggestions let me know. I also thought about San Mateo CG in San Clemente but everyone would have to make their own reservations and then hope we can all get close together.

Hey Jacqui! :W

We just returned today from our very first stay at Canyon RV. They were extremely nice to us and gave us a beautiful site by the river. We were originally going to go to San Mateo, but I left making the reservations too long (no later than 48 hours thru RA  ) But it worked out better--we had a great time, even though it was only for one night. It's a 20-minute drive from our home off the tollroad and makes a quick and easy get-a-way. Dave is talking about going back the weekend of the 17th. How does that or the weekend of the 24th sound for a mini rally? (Assuming everyone stays healthy! ;) )

Either of those weekends works for us.  January 16 maybe the best for some because Monday is a holiday (M L King day) and families could stay an extra day if they wanted.  Let me know and I will call and see if they have sites available.  Where are the river sites?  When we were there we stayed at sites all the way to the right.  I think Canyon RV would be a great place for a rally.

Thanks for the football update Georgeanne, we couldn't hold a rally SB weekend.

Actually, that might be the PERFECT WEEKEND for the "First Annual SCCampers Girls-Only Rally."

Which will be followed quickly by the February 14---"Boys-Only Rally".

Happy New Year to everyone. We've been in Colorado since the 22nd and got back Saturday morning after a 20 hour drive from Ft Collins. Lots of snowy roads for half of the trip at night. When it was snowing, we were only able to drive at 30 mph to 50 mph and that was when we could see the road. The snow kept Paula from her nap time. No rush to get home and took our time. We enjoyed our grandsons' even though one was only 3 months. Our son had me do some projects which included splitting a cord of wood. No snow until we left. When I called him Saturday to tell him we were home, he said they got 3" of snow that night. I read in the newspaper that they had to shut down I-70 due to an avalanche about an hour after we drove throught there. Glad we left when we did

While we would love to do more camping than already scheduled, Paula can't use up any more vacation time due to our son's wedding in June.

All our best to all.

Welcome back Moose & Moosette!  I'm glad you left when you did also.  Can you imagine dealing with an avalanche?  Scott and I once drove through a blizzard in Flagstaff in our Venture towing Pops-Up Anywhere.  It was one of the scariest experiences of my life. Another reason I'm glad your back is because I have a glue question.  I'll e-mail you!

Our Colorado son called tonight to say the temp tonight was -6. When he got home at 6 tonight it was -1. He said he thought it was cold.

Hi Moose! :W   Merry :XMas  and :J New Year!!!

Glad you and Paula got home safe and sound. Thought of you this past weekend when Dave and I were out looking at expandable hybrid trailers in the rain for kicks-we kept expecting to turn around and see you and Paula there with your pop up t-shirts on and smiles from ear to ear.  Didn't buy anything, but boy, are the wheels inside my tiny little head a-turning!!

We'll be at San Onofre (San Mateo CG) the weekend of July 16th-18th if anyone would like to join us!:)

What?  No posts for three days?  You'd think everyone had gone camping or something....
