Bill and Paula,

Sorry to hear about your step-father.  It sounds like a quick and unexpected end.  Best wishes to both of you and all your family.

To the rest of you...a reminder that life is indeed too short.  Have a great weekend.

Hi all,

The weekend was nice & what great weather. It was nice seeing some old SCCampers & some new members. As always the food was Great!

Since Scott wasn't there we goofed & didn't get a group shot - DOH!
I did upload some picture that I took so if you want to check them out then just click on the webshots link in my signature.

Look forward to camping with everyone again!

We made it home safe and sound.  Would you believe it took us about 1 hour to get home.  Boy did we take the wrong route to Yucaipa.  I agree with SimiRich, the weather was absolutely gorgeous, cool at night and warm during the day.  I think for our first wagonmasterless rally it went really well.  As usual there was more food than could be eaten.  Moose and Paula, you would of been proud there were 4 dutch ovens sitting on the table and a pineapple upside down cake too.  A bunch of us think that since we graduated from DO 101 we now need DO 102 (or is that 201).  It's been a while since I have been to college.

Holly and Dave you were missed but Sherry and family fit it perfectly.  All the kids had a blast.  I am looking forward to our next rally whenever it is planned.

weeehaaw..another sucessful rally! I even made it for the breakfast potluck!!
I really did ...Rich has pictures to prove it

weather was great, the kids had a great time, our site became a YU-GI-OH training center with all the kids playing the game, now all I have to do is train them not to start the games until after I've had a Diet Mt. Dew and Breakfast  ;)

Its a great place to camp, the spaces are very roomy, but maybe too spacious for a Rally, I think some where afraid to leave their kids, while napping or sleeping. (I know I would ..That's why I like Hosting the fire) that and I'm a Pyro
Jaquai and I thought maybe I should change my log in to "one Pyro"  :J

Rich: thanks for the geocaching demo..it was fun
see you all at pismo

It was great actually camping with the SCCampers again without rain & freezing cold temps ;) . We sure did miss you & Georgeanne. We had a Margageeta in her honor. We also had a Mimosa Sunday morning in honor of G & Rita.

We're looking forward to seeing you soon.

What a great weekend!  We couldn't have asked for better weather.  Thanks to everyone for making my little sister and neice feel welcome.  It was their first camping trip of any kind and they both had a great time.

The food at the potlucks was great, and all the kids seemed to have a great time.

However, I did want to bring something up.  Directly behind my site was a couple of motorhomes who I believe were the only campers in the entire loop that were not with our rally.  I overhead an older lady at their campsite talking with the park ranger - and she was complaining about our group.  From what I heard, she attempted to use the ladies restroom, but got chassed away by our children.  They were running through, chasing each other with scooters, and spaying each other and people in the stalls with water.  She complained that she paid just as much for her site that we paid for ours and should have been able to use the showers and restrooms without boys running through.  I know that personally, I was a little uncomfortable when I was using the urinal and all of the sudden there was a pre-teen girl in the stall with me, hiding from the boys who were chasing her through the bathrooms on their scooters.

I thought everyone should be aware that we were disturbing our neighbors.  I know that I see people complain on these forums about other parents allowing their kids to terrorize the other campers, and that is what the other campers thought of us at this rally.

We should always make sure our kids are being respectfull of the other campers.  It's easy to get caught up in the day and let the kids go off and have their fun, but it shouldn't be a the expense of other camper's enjoyment.

Anyone else overhear any complaints?

Randy,
I'm sorry to hear that there were complaints about our kids.  I was not aware that it was a problem although I know that my son was one of the kids involved--he had a great time playing with everyone but it shouldn't be at the expense of the enjoyment of other campers.  Did the personnel talk to anyone about the complaints?

Other than hearing about this, the weekend was wonderful.  The campsites were huge with plenty of grassy areas and the potlucks, as usual, were fantastic.  Thanks Holly for getting the ball rolling on this one although I'm sorry you couldn't make it.

I too am sad to know that the kids were a bother to other campers.   The kids were having such a good time I didn't realize it had gotten out of hand.   Gosh Randy I hope my daughter wasn't the one who walked in on you:o .  The bathroom situation wasn't very private to begin with.  The stalls were pretty much right out in front.   Unfortunatley, there isn't much that can be done now but in the future we can make sure it doesn't happen again.

I also felt bad when I overhead the compliant.  I just thought I would let everyone know so that they can be more aware at the next rally.

And, although I overhead the complaint to the park official, I never had any of the staff come talk to me about it.

Sounds like everyone had a lot of fun. Sorry we missed it, but we did enjoy the beautiful weather over the weekend too. I'm anxious to camp again- we booked a site at Anza Borrego in the Borrego Palms section April 16-17. Has anyone been there?
