Lori,

What site are you planning on taking?

Also, before I start the website, I have some general questions:

Are we going to track Potluck dishes, or do an informal potluck where we all just bring something? Last year we listed what everyone was bringing on the website, but I think it's more fun to attend a potluck where I don't know what to expect. Any thoughts?

Last year I remember that there was so much going on within the resort itself, that it was very difficult to execute the activities like trick-or-treating, costume contests, pinata, etc., because everyone was busy enjoying the festival.  Do we want to plan a whole bunch of activities this year or do we want to let folks be free to enjoy the festivities at the resort instead?

What about T-Shirts?  Are there any volunteers to create the graphics for the shirts this year?  Should we order shirts this year?  If someone else creates the artwork, I will volunteer to take care of ordering, aquiring, delivering, and collecting for the t-shirts.  If we decide to do shirts I can use the web site to track the orders.

Here is the current status of reservations: (UPDATED 4/8/04)

Pending:
OC Campers: 171

Confirmed:
Griffsmom: 170
Chez Way & Darksiders: 130, 131
Kimrb266: 165
Dee4j: 167

Also, Dee raised a good point in her e-mail to me: sites 126-137 are situated on the main road that goes to the pool and stables, and it is pretty well traveled during the day. Families with small children may want to be on the other side due to safety considerations.

Informal suits me fine. Besides, truth be told, I'm just too tired to be my usual anal self. If we end up with 42 DOs of brownies, well then, we shall all eat cake! The Saturday morning communal breakfast can be unplanned and informal as well--if we're having one...?

Good point--I had forgotten how harried it had been at times with everything going on. Heck, Dave, Griffin and I didn't get to go to anything last year! Unless everyone else has their hearts set on a bunch of activities, I'm happy to relax and let VLR entertain us.

I quite like the t-shirts and am proud of my growing PUT/SCCampers rally t-shirt collection, and I can't tell you how much Griffin LOVES wearing his pop up shirts! I am not, however, artistically talented in even the slightest of ways. If someone would like to work with Randy on this, it would be fairly easy, since Randy has offered to do the hard part. (Thanks Randy!)

Thanks for raising these questions Randy. Everyone, please feel free to weigh in with your thoughts and comments.

Well.... cake has eggs & milk  doesn't that make it "healthy"  ;)

I agree, we didn't get to camp last year, we could only come down for the day and I found it a little hectic to "cram" everything in before it gets too late and they get too tired and go into melt-down.

Lori summed it up. exactly..thanks Lori   :p

Last year I think the kids enjoyed the costume contest and trick or treating.  Is there any way that we can include these activities?  This way the kids can wear their costumes more than once.  What do you guys think.

I think you're right.  Maybe Saturday morning after breakfast, the kids can don their costumes, have a little contest and do a little trick-or-treating.  The only reason why I'm thinkng after breakfast is that early afternoon is naptime for Griffin and having it late afternoon/before dinner at that time of year ends up making us eat in the dark.

After breakfast would be good for us too because the twins go down for their nap @ 1-1:30.  This way they won't be cranky and will have enough time to enjoy themselves before they go down.

Dee4j

I think after breakfast is good too. that way everyone can spend the rest of the day doing whatever and not having to do an organized activity and get food for potluck done at the same time

We reserved site 126 with Lori over the weekend.

Moose

Moose, Kimrb266, Dee4j--I'll get your confirmations out this week.

Jacqui--I have moved us from 170 & 171 to 173 & 174. I felt that being right by the road where the haunted hayride comes down could be dangerously busy for our little ones.

Randy--If you have the time and inclination, you could go ahead and create the Web page for this rally. That way, everyone can more easily see current site assignments and which sites are still available. Thank you again for offering to set the rally site up!

To all--I have reserved 33 sites, and even though October seems far away, sites are already starting to fill up. I feel confident that we will sell out again like we did last year, so don't wait too long to reserve your site for what will be a fun time for you and your family! :D

OMG, it takes a lot more than that to get me upset.  I didn't even take it that way.  Actually, it reminded me to get it in the mail.
