Kara seems to be doing better we'll see when we get in the car Thanks for reminding about the contact list. As far as dinner that sounds yummy but my friend from HS is coming up with her boys and having dinner but thanks for the invite. I usually like to do the dinner thing

We're still in for this one, even tho I haven't been able to hang much on the boards lately. Since I'm out of vacation time, I'll be leaving work around 12:30, picking up my mom and Griffin from home and will hit the road to Casitas around 1:30 or 2:00. Dave is leaving in the next half hour or so and will go on up and set up the camper for us.

Hmmm...maybe not having any vacation time isn't such a bad thing after all.....;)

Moose and Paula--have a great time at McGrath! We'll miss you!! Jacqui--we'll defintiely have a sake-G-ta or two for you!!! See everyone else this afternoon! :D

After a grueling eight mile drive home, we unloaded the Trailblazer, took the camper down to the car wash, and put everything away.

To paraphrase Lori slightly, "It's nice to camp close to home WITH FRIENDS."

We had wonderful weather and good food and a couple of drinks.  I had to leave for the morning on Saturday for a work obligation, that was a lot of fun, the Kinetic Sculpture Race.  An event the defies explination, you may just have to be there.  http://www.kineticrace.com/ is the official site.

With five families joining the fun, it was an intimate group with lots of chatting and learning about each other.  Wynn, Lori's mom, looked wonderful and I swear she hasn't missed a beat, although medical records indicate otherwise.

It was great to see and spend time with the mysterious Paul, who is safely home from the ravages of Florida hurricanes.  And it's hard to believe its been so long since we got to camp with the Ways and the Darksiders.

Great time had by all.  Looking forward to the next getogether, which may be a while for us.

Great pictures Scott.  I love the picture of the jay trying to bury the acorn.   It sure looks like everyone had a great time.  Was it too cold for the waterslide?

Hey campers!
We had a great time as usual.  The Mexican themed potluck was a big hit.  Jim had a little incident on the lakeshore on Saturday that required a call to Auto Club but all is well.  Here is a link to my pictures (I hope this works!).  http://community.webshots.com/slideshow?ID=189772889&key=fWnNtO

Jacqui, The weather wasn't too cold for the water slide.  In fact, they just opened the new section called "Lazy River."  It was pretty cool.  They have 1 to 3 person tubes that you can float on down a man-made river.

We are already looking forward to the Halloween rally.

Hello everyone.  I just wanted to say we had a great time, albeit a short time.  I'm glad we decided to come up even though we had to delay it a day.  The food, as always, was plentiful and awesome.  Lori, I loved your DO enchiladas.  Jeanne, thanks for bailing me out on my ice-cream making as my measuring spoons were hitting the dirt!  Nice to have reinforcements nearby.  And to the G's, thanks for the 'ritas and conversation.  Paul really enjoyed the time away from it all and just hanging out.

We had a wonderful time this weekend with everyone.  It's too bad that the weekend went by so quickly!  Mega-rallies are fun, but I really enjoy the intimacy of the smaller ones, where you actually get a chance to talk with everyone.

The weather couldn't have been nicer--warm enough for the water park and lazy river to be refreshing, but not so sweltering as to make you wish you had a/c on your pop up.  Griffin had a great time camping with the "big kids" (who were all so nice to him) and playing at the water park.  It was quite a contrast from when we held our very first rally ever (with a bunch of people we had only "met" on the Internet! :yikes: ) At that rally, he was only 20 months old, and I couldn't let him get more than an arm's length away from me.  This time, I still did the "watch-him-like-a-hawk-pacing-back-and-forth" mommy thing while he was playing, but he was able to be much more independent.  He especially enjoyed making skid marks with his bicycle, playing hide-and-go-seek, and riding on David's skateboard down the road from the marina.  That was so cute, and David is still so very precious in how sweet he is with the little ones.

The mexican potluck was delicious!  Thank you to everyone who was a guinea pig for my new chicken enchilada recipe.  I actually got lazy and modified the recipe before I had ever even made it the first time!  Sorry about forgetting the olives, Scott!  I'll post the recipe in its original form in the recipe section for anyone who wants it.

Thanks to everyone for making the weekend so lovely.  Jacqui--you were missed and Moose we waved as we went by McGrath--did you see us? ;)   Given how windy it was when we drove past, maybe you had already blown out of there!:D

Looking forward to soon seeing those of you going to Temecula.

We pulled out before 11:30, but had rocks ready to put in our pockets. We had a great time also and I did a new shrimp appetizer recipe that I got from Cooking Light. MMM yummy.

Lori,

Just so you know, if anyone asks, your camera is 6.2 megapixel.

Nice pix by Dave.

Hey, remember that whole "nitwit skateboarder" discussion about the damaged roof between Scott and I?  Well, my nitwit skateboarder fell off his aforementioned long board Friday night and managed to fracture his wrist!  So he's banned from skateboarding for a few weeks, which means he'll have more time to whine to me about how bored he is.  And he just started playing water polo, remember, and if it's truly a fracture (they think it is, but it really isn't until a radiologist says so) he's out for the rest of the short season.  Great.  I guess I should count myself fortunate that this is his first broken limb and he's the ripe old age of 14.
