Well I would go for Hickory Run SP or for Otter Lake.  Otter lake offers more, is further for me, and is more expensive, but it is MY birthday trip so I will not feel guilty for treating myself.:)

Tracy,
Otter Lake lets you get there by 11pm - not like North-South's 9pm limit... Hickory Run is ok by me too. Whatever you want - it's your bday  :cake: so let's celebrate  :-() .

Beckie, if you go to Otter Lake (this trip or another), you might want to stop off at Crossings Outlet Coach store (RT 80 exit 299). It's about 15 min before you get to Marshalls Creek. Haven't been there myself but lots of people around here shop there. We're too cheap - my DD just buys knockoffs in Chinatown. Me- I do without.

Hey all!

Otter Lake gets our vote to try... never been there and looks not too far for us - a quick run down 84.  I also looked at both the Woodalls and Trailer Life scores and Woodalls gave it a perfect 10 and Trailer Life was 9 / 8.5* / 8 which are well above average ratings.

However - We're up for HR again if that's what the group decides...  Our main gripe (actually our ONLY gripe!) at HR was the never cleaned bathrooms, but now we have our own bathroom so that doesn't matter anymore...

Tracy - looks like we're in agreement that it's your decision!!

Thanks Di.  I picked Friday the 21 as a vacation day, so we will leave when DS gets out of school, so for this trip I will not get there too late.

Hickory Run is a lot closer, but I am Game for Otter Creek/Lake whatever... I think either one is closer for almost everyone but me...maybe we can talk Jazzman into coming, or at least his other half (sorry, cannot think of her name, but it will come to me about 3:00AM), she could come with me, as Raymond probably won't...but what is new???

I don't want you waking up at 3 am ;) so I will tell you her name, Erika.

I don't know how you go to Hickory Run, but if you come up 476 it will not be that much further.  For me coming in from the west it is 40 miles from the western exit off I-80 for Hickory Run.  HR is closer for you, Beckie and I and Otter Lake is closer for DiW, Rick(and has his full hookups) Dee, and Andy if he is planning on coming.  Has anyone heard from Debbiedee, Wynot or Mtn.Dave?
Who else am I forgetting?

dee106

well from our trailer its 45 miles to otter, 74 to hickory! from home its 65 to trailer, so we can do it, making ken use one of his owed days (holidays) same with Gary.

dee106

ok, now, are we going to OTTER ? and if so , any special area are we to book for? i prefer full hook up, but will do w/e to keep with the group if they are in a different loop. i don't know the camp ground so please point me in the right area.

tlhdoc

OK I will make it official that Otter is the campground.  I sent them an email and I am waiting to hear back from them.  I told them that at least 3 would want full hookups (Rick, Dee and I am guessing Paula) and that we like more remote sites (aka state park like sites).  I will post when they get back to me.:)

DiW

sounds good to me  :D

dee106

remember no low branches please!:yikes: in that remote area!

This is what they have on their website

From I-80: Take Exit 309 to US Route 209 North. Follow Route 209 North to Marshalls Creek. Turn left onto Route 402 and travel 300 feet. Turn left at the firehouse and it's just 7 miles to Otter Lake.

I can go either way with Water, if I have water and I am alone and it is a weekend I do not need sewage, I do want electricity.
