From I-80: Take Exit 309 to US Route 209 North. Follow Route 209 North to Marshalls Creek. Turn left onto Route 402 and travel 300 feet. Turn left at the firehouse and it's just 7 miles to Otter Lake.
its not for me, tracy, i'm going 206 to dingmans to route 209 and in. its not bad off season to do the puddle jumping less traffic that time of year. ken likes the small towns

route 80 is not down near the shore, 80 runs east to west, shore is south. was wondering if going towards philly and around, or across jeresy rt 280 or 287 to 80 tr

Hi Dee (Diana), Mapquest suggests:
Take the Garden State Parkway North to Route 440 (exit 127) toward 287.
Take 440S - turns into 287North.
Take 206N (Bedminster area)
Take 80W
Take 209 North (exit 309)
whatever the rest of it is (see Tracy's post)

I'm not sure if we've ever been on that 440 - 287 section but will look for it next time I'm on the Garden State Parkway. Looking at the map, that section seems flat west-east which would add miles I think. I also prefer to go 287-80, instead of cutting over on 206 north.

When we camped at Turkey Swamp CG in Freehold Township, we went 287S to 24E to the parkway South, but coming north it's a pain because there's no 78/24 west exit that I know of. What we did was to go thru the toll booth and take the 1st immediate exit for 78east. Then we took the 1st exit off 78e and did a u turn, heading west. 78w turns into/combines with 24 west. We then took 287 north to 80 west.

I have gone the garden state parkway north to 280 west but not towing. Remember those are pretty big hills on 280 - might be a problem pulling a popup.

Dee what town is your trailer at?

dademt

I went there last year and if I remember correctly the road up there has many sharp curves.  You will go across about 4 or more open grate crossings at least.  Near the top of the hill they are on the left hand side.  You will pass a couple other campgrounds before you get to theirs.

What did you think of the campground?  Would you go back again?  What area do you think we should camp in?:)

I am SO glad that there are more people than just me that want some form of hookups...  I was beginning to feel like an RVer instead of a camper.  :p

hi DIW (diane)
thats the way we go, when we travel to the shore from our site to my family in Tomsriver, Thats the way she comes to us from Brick to our campground.  Its a three hour trip just to us then add the rest of it, so she is looking at 4 hour drive for a weekend one way, she was hoping for a shorter way

 thanks for your help

DiW

dee,
Mapquest puts it (Brick to Marshalls Creek) at 2 1/4 hrs. I would estimate a bit more, maybe 2 1/2 - 3 hrs (not sure where Brick is in relation to Turkey Swamp). Remember your friend would just stay on Rt 80, thru the GAP into Pa - instead of heading up to your cg. I think it takes us less maybe 1 1/2 hrs to go to Turkey Swamp CG in Freehold. We're about 1 hr from Marshalls Creek. (We live near where Rt 80 & Rt 15 meet).
