I'm sorry hon. I was afraid it might be Ken who was under the weather.
Take care of your dad.

Sorry Dee. Both my parents have been in tough shape this past year and my (FL) brother has been doing a ton to take care of them. I try to go help out and give my brother a much-needed break as often as I can. Maybe you're brother is afraid he won't know what to do. Maybe you can reassure him that you can get back within a couple hours (in an emergency) - and there's a good hospital nearby... in any case, hang in there. Hope things improve for your dad and you.

he is a handful, since thursday when we took him out of the "hospital" I have been doing 22 hrs a day. He isn't sleeping, and when he does its cat naps, so I don't get to go to sleep. Ken or gary give me an hour or two break, to nap. So my days are long. Since he has been here he is doing better then when he was in the "hospital" I am taking him thursday to a new doctor up here, and we will see what he says about my dad and his multi medical problems.

my brother and his family could do it, my sister inlaw will come tomorrow to watch him so i can sleep, since ken worked his day off, and is doing a double today, so i won't see my two hour break  for two days. so she will come over since school is out. Each day he is doing better, but its the nights that a the hardest. So thats the problem, some one has to stay awake to watch him.

DiW

Sorry dee. Having spent many nights sleeping by J's side (in and out of the hospital), I can somewhat understand the fatigue (don't think I had it as bad as you). Hope you get the relief you need - you can't afford to get sick so you definitely need some sleep. Can you get a visiting nurse to come in even for a couple hrs/day?.. I'm not surprised your dad is doing better outside the hospital. Even J's neurosurgeon has said the worst place is the hospital. Other than actual surgery, they try to get him out of the hospital as fast as possible. Too many germs, too many interruptions, too much noise, etc.
Good luck.

Quote from: mlslocksNot sure yet but we may be able to come up for Saturday night. No soccer game but DS has a church retreat Saturday morning. Mapquest says I am only 2 hours away. Hopefully they will have a site for me for one night.

I will see you all tomorrow sometime.  It is now up in the air if the others are coming or not.  Raymond decided that it is going to be cold and raining...I will be there rain or shine, snow or sleet...heck or highwater...

DiW

Good attitude Paula.

I am glad you aren't thinking of canceling.  See you tomorrow.:)

Raymond and the kid will be up Saturday...I went to the Kirby place about 3 blocks away to pick up bags, the owner asked Jeffrey if he wanted a job. If he did to come back today.  Jeffrey did, was given a quick instruction and told to come home and practice on my kirby...He starts formal training tomorrow.

I did this about 20 years ago, but at least he will be working and hopefully staying out of trouble.

So Raymond opted to stay home Friday and trim hedges.

Check in is no earlier than 2:00 so I will leave here around 10:00 allowing plenty of time and there is a Super Walmart in East Stroudsburg that I can kill time at if I make too good of time...

Got to go to the grocery tomight or very early in the AM since I now know who and when everyone will be there...

Barbeque Season After four long months of cold and winter, we are finally coming up to summer and BBQ season. Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking, as it's the only type of cooking a real man will do, probably because there is some of danger involved.

When a man volunteers to do the BBQ, the following chain of events are put into motion:

1) The woman buys the food.
2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert.
3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - beer in hand.

Here comes the important part:

4) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.

5) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery.
6) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is burning. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he deals with the situation.

Important again:

7) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.

8) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces and brings them to the table.
9) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.

And most important of all:

10) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts.

11) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed "her night off." And, seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women.

Just wondering if tracy was gonna get the day of from COOKING on
