K_and_I

Sorry, I've dropped the ball on this thread. Been kind of busy. Anyway, in the Thanksgiving theme, here is a new one:

K_and_I

I enjoy snow, but I'm really starting to get the bug to de-winterize the camper and get camping!

K_and_I

I went hiking in Mohican State Park a week or so ago. The trail I was on took me through the campgrounds. I was surprised to see a single Aliner camping there. There are mountain bike trails through the park, and there was a mountain bike leaning against the camper, so I think he (she?) was a hearty soul who likes camping and biking in the cold and snow.

The main road through the almost empty campground

The log cabin used for nature classes for the children (in better weather)

This is what a pop-up should look like vs the snow covered picture just above. This was taken in Moose Hillock campground in western NH last fall:

Anyone else reminiscing about warm camping?

I've been dreaming about popping up. Lot's of rain here lately but we had a beuatiful day last Friday. 60 degrees, no wind, sun shining...Now I can't stop thinking about getting out.

K_and_I - Thanks for keeping up with the photos. I'm not doing my part. All of my photos have been of kids at basketball/baseball practices and games lately. I did go skiing over the new year weekend and only took my Canon S90 point & shoot. I'll post a couple pics since it is outdoors...no camping though.

The pics are taken at Mt Bachelor in Bend, OR. We stayed at a house in Sun River.

Another from the lift:

Some of the boys were happy to hop out of the hot tub and pose in the snow:

Finally, if anyone is interested, here's a link to the slideshow/video of the trip:

Thanks for taking a look.

Great pics, Wayne. I did look at the slideshow. It looks like a good time was had by all. No offense, but I'm getting tired of seeing the snow :).
Since we don't have good camping weather here yet, is anyone interested in seeing more of last year's better weather?

This was taken from the side of Mt. Washington in New Hampshire. The weather was too bad to go to the top, but we got up about half way:

Here's one of my favorites out of several the DW took as the sun went down at San Clemente State Beach on a recent SCCampers rally.

Displays fine for me. These are hosted on Photobucket, which many corporate IT departments block. Maybe you'll be able to view them when you're at home, not working, on your own time. :Z:compumad::Z

Heading to Big Bear this weekend. Plenty of snow up there, but we won't be camping.
If I see anything really remarkable I'll snap a few shots and post them.

I hope you get to go. Hwy 38 is supposed to re-open to downbound traffic at 6pm today. With another storm coming in tomorrow, it might not last long.

Never went to Tahquitz; our troop/council always used Ahwahnee when it was still open.
