I'm going to bow out of this rally.  I've been gone a LOT in the last month and just want to stay home.

If someone wants my site let me know.  Otherwise I'll cancel it this weekend.

:( :%but I completely understand..I have had visitors for 2 weeks and I'm so far behind on stuff it's crazy...and I have 2 weeks to get it together before I start my new Temp job....

Quote from: Dee4j;216565gee sucks to be you..;) I'm sure you'll have no problem getting rid of it..I myself am not a tekillya fan, but my step daughter left me almost a full bottle of Absolut Ruby Red...very yummy in Diet. Mt Dew...:-()
Yeah, it's a drag. But somebody has to do it.

Actually, a friend of ours is a part owner in a new Tequila company. Ever heard of Azunia Tequila? It can be found at BevMo if it hasn't sold out when you go by. They have several different grades.

Anyway, he gave us six 1-liter bottles to sample. And what's sampling without some friends? :sombraro:

So who's bringing the mixers?

Thought I'd re-post something Lori had posted many moons ago since we have several new members joining us (YEAH!:)). It also serves as a good reminder to all.

Potluck Rules:

Potlucks can be as complicated or as easy as you'd like. Sometimes we focus on a theme (Mexican, Oktoberfest, etc.) but more often than not,it's a free-for-all. Many of us cook in traditional, charcoal-powered Dutch Ovens (?DOs?), while others prefer electric DOs ("crockpots") while yet others choose to contribute other types of prepared or store-bought dishes or goodies. Because we usually have a good-sized group, try to make a dish that will feed about 12-15 people. Our group prides itself on having more food than could be consumed by two professional football teams (or 3 hungry teenage boys :) ) and we don't want to blow our streak now.  We do ask that parents accompany their children through the line (or instruct their teenagers to take small portions of those things they will eat) so that food is not wasted and there will be enough for everyone, including those at the end of a sometimes long potluck line. A tablespoon of several items quickly fills a plate and fills your belly too.

We usually have the breakfast potluck on the Saturday morning of the rally, around 9-ish (with emphasis on the ?ish?), and we all just gather at someone's site, drag enough tables and/or chairs over so that everyone has a seat, and then dig in. You need to bring your own plates, utensils, and beverages. The dinner potluck is typically held on the Saturday evening of the rally around 6:00-ish (again, emphasis on the ?ish?), and is pretty much the same set-up as it was for breakfast.

When the potluck is over remove your dish even if there is some left, that includes the desserts. Leaving food behind with the intensions someone eat it and not waste it is nice, but this NEVER happens and the food sits there all night and the clean- up is left to the person(s) who's campsite the potluck is in.

8 more wake-ups!! I can't wait..It will be nice to see those I haven't seen in awhile and to meet some new families

oh a note on the Geo-caching..Kara went for the first time on the Prez weekend rally and had a blast!! (thx Hoagie) but some of you may not know anything about it..basically you go find something hidden... lets say a small tupperware container. In it may be a log to sign saying you were there and sometimes there is little treasures like a key chain or fake coin, groovy paper clip..basically trivial "junk" the fun is to "trade" for something inside. YOU cannot take an item without leaving an item in return. The items need to be small.

I thought I'd let everyone know: I had to be in San Diego this morning, so on my way home, stopped in at Santee Lakes to check out my site. I'm glad I did, I discovered the entrance is South of Mast Blvd., however, our sites are about a mile North. So, for those of you that have never been there before (like me) make sure you turn South on Fanita from Mast Blvd. Otherwise, it can be really confusing trying to figure out how to get in the place. Of course, it might just be my problem with reading directions :o   Anyway, thought I'd let y'all in on this.  You'll check at the front security gate and they will give you directions to the office where you actually check in.

See y'all there on Fri.
