Did I read it right, Costume contest before dinner, dinner and then trick-or-treating?  My question is, won't the (small) kids get their costumes dirty before they go trick-or-treating?  Why can't we have costume contest/trick-or-treating about 4:30 or so and then after, we can have our dinner.  This sounds a bit more convenient for those who have shall children.  What do you guys think?

Thanks Carol.  That will help our glowstick guru Dee.  She always gives glow sticks to the kids as a little treat. :)

I hadn't thought about the "dinner-on-the-costume" problem.  My only concern is that contest/trick-or-treating at 4:30 puts dinner at least an hour, probably more, after that.  Last year it was dark when we ate and kind of hard to see.  I'd like to try to start dinner no later than 5:30-5:45 tops.  What about costume contest at 3:30, with trick-or-treating to follow?

T-SHIRT UPDATE

Just wanted to let everyone know that I received the shirts today.  I went through them the order was perfect.  They turned out great.

So, I'll be passing out the t-shirts and collecting checks sometime on Saturday!

Could it still be eleven days away?

It can't get here fast enough for me!  But at least it's only 10 days now! :)

Lori,
What's the procedure for check in?  Having never attended a rally, I don't know procedure.
See you all soon!

Check in is 1:00 p.m.  Checking in before that gets a $10.00 check-in early fee (which I think is cheesy, but whaddya gonna do...)

When you arrive at the cg, there will be an office on your left before you go past the little guard shack.  Go into the office and let them know that you are with the SCCampers group and give them your site number.  They'll give you a piece of paper to put on your dashboard.  You will not need to pay anything, unless you want to rent one of their campfire containers (you may only have a campfire in an approved container).  I will be sending out confirmations this week, but they are only for our personal information purposes--they won't mean anything to the people at VLR.

Once you've checked in, go through the guard shack, turn left, go past the mini-golf area (it may be behind black tarp b/c it becomes a haunted maze for Halloween)and then turn right at the first street.  Our sites will be down toward the end before you get to the pool area.

HTH! :)

PopUpMomma

THanks Lori,
Sounds pretty easy.  Wish we could get there before 1:00 probably more like just before dark......if we are lucky!

They hit us with it the last time we camped there.

Sue Hardee

has any one counted up all the children that will be there....Also the Hively's will have two additional children guests coming on Sat.  They would like to join in on the fun..and the Hardee's may have two children guests also.  Hope that will be o.k.  When we talk about it every one wants to come? Have we set up a schedule for dinner , trick or treating and Halloween costume contest yet?  We are soo excited and can't wait until next Friday....Can't wait to meet every one!

PopUpMomma

What's everyone planning for the potlucks?

I am stuck between something festive (using the halloween theme) or something wholesome.
