Hi Rick. Just checking in before leaving for the hospital. Chris is doing well. His surgery was Wed early morn. The surgeon decided to repair the valve after doing a special Echo. He planned to go in from under the arm but he wasn't able to do that so he had to do the old fashioned, crack the chest, type procedure. This means a longer recovery time and more pain but Chris has been in lala land so far and hasn't noticed. I was a bit concerned coz as of midnight (surgery was at 7 or 8am), he still wasn't breathing on his own but finally he began and they removed the breathing tube. He finally got moved out of recovery at 3pm yesterday (Thursday) and to the cardiac floor. Last night, he sat up and ate dinner so that's definitely progress. He's been a trooper - not complaining. Actually seems to be enjoying the sedation. Making dumb jokes and smirking coz he thinks he's funny. Keeps waving to people (real and imaginary haha). Kelsey asked if this is the "old Chris" that I knew in college. I have to admit there's some truth to that.

Enjoy your camping trip. We'll be thinking of you. I reminded Chris that we have Hickory Run to look forward to.

Di - glad to hear Chris is okay.  I am on vacation as of right now for the next TEN DAYS.  I'll be home until Valentines Day afternoon (that's when I plan to head to Pine Grove), so if you need ANYTHING please do not hesitate to call me.  Please tell Chris we are thinking about him.  Miss you guys!

Hey Rick, you may want to keep an eye on the weather as it may still be nasty into Wed morning.

HersheyGirl

Yes Rick, watch the weather....they are calling for snow Tuesday evening into Wednesday....several inches as of this time.

Help!
Tracey (or someone who knows the directions)!
The campground dirctions say to take exit 100 off of Rt. 81. Yahoo says to take exit 85B and Mapquest says to take exit 90. Which one is right?
We'll be coming straight up Rt. 81. Please help?!!

I always take exit 90 from the south coming up I-81. The campground is between exit 90 and Exit 100. There is a Subway at Exit 90 where we sometimes stop for dinner before going to the KOA.

Quote from: tlhdocI know I had fun last year on this trip and I think everyone else that went had fun too. So if you are interested post.:)

The trip is planned (weather permitting) the long weekend in February 16th to the 19th or any parts of that long weekend.

Pine Grove KOA/Twin Grove Park is where we plan on holding the trip. Sites are full hookup including cable tv and telephone jacks. You can rent a modem for computer hookup through their cable system. There should be a Valentines day special for that weekend, but they haven't informed me what it will be this year. So come out and join us for a unique camping experience this winter.:)

Campers interested in going, you know us crazy campers.:D

Well, we are interested in this again...I hope to bring my son and his friend like last year. The long range forecast is almost exactly like last year...highs in the 20's and a low around 10. Didn't freeze last year and I added a second electric heater since then (as well as my heated mattress pad.) Got to fill up the propane though.

copcarguy

If you're coming southbound on 81, take exit 100, make a right onto 443, and go roughly 5 miles.

If you're heading northbound on 81, get off at exit 90 and follow 443 to come in on the other side.

I will watch out for the weather guys, thanks! I just changed the oil in the van so she's ready to go!

John, That's just not fair, I will be stuck in a hotel room next weekend in AC, but you know my wife(happy wife, happy Adam) have a good time! I'm heading off to help my dealer sell some campers at VF RV show today.

I hope the weather holds-out, could be fun to have a little snow on the ground though!

John I am glad you are going to join us again. :) When do you plan on coming it?  Couldn't you talk Terry into join us this year?:D

Unfortunately we are not camping and on top of that we are not going to the show.  Alex needs her time in dance practice since she has missed some due to her arm.  Nicole and I may go out for dinner later in the day if my parents can end up watching the kids.

I hope everyone enjoys.

copcarguy

Hey all!

Ummm, it looks like we are not leaving Wed as planned.  Not with over a foot of snow predicted!  Figures that Old Man Winter would wake up the week I'm on vacation.  ARRRGH.
