Quote from: camperjohnWhere are you going camping? Last weekend would have been perfect. I think I need to get the camper out of storage.
We are going to Pine Grove PA.  The KOA there.  See the thread marked Jan Trip for more info.

Hey there camperjohn - welcome to the COTOC section of Pop Up Times!  Since you posted here, you completed the first and ONLY requirement of joining COTOC - which was simply posting something!  So now you're an official member!  :p   dademt kinda filled you in already, so I won't repeat anything since he did such an excellent job.  Congrats on the new TV - can't wait to check it out!  (I'm a Ford guy, so I can't wait to see it!)  What year is your Santa Fe?  If you'd like to check out some of our past adventures, feel free to click on the webshots link under my profile, or tlhdoc's profile.  Welcome again!

Thanks.  I think the Santa Fe is an 03.  I would like to upgrade some time to a Hybrid so I hope the explorer (6cyl with Class III/IV Tow package) will do an okay job.  But for now we are fine continuing with the pop-up.

I will have to work on getting my signature configured.  Thanks for the welcome.  I Have been lurking around for sometime and finally decided to stop camping alone with my family and try to join up with others of similar interests.

Just checking the signature....

CJ, love your siggie line, sorta the same thing here too, when dad would back the camper in, mom would want it as close to the river as it would go without falling in AND under a tree for shade...dad finally got out one day when mo0m was getting madder and madder and told her that if she did not like how hw was parking it,, do it herself, she did and after that quit nagging when she found out that it really was NOT that easy to get it exactly where SHE wanted it.

The same went for the bost ramps. Dad was the official backer as mom would not/could not back straight and would get frustrated when the boat did not turn immediately when she turned the steering wheel...she would holler at him (and yes cuss at him) when he thought he was not turning the boat/trailer down the ramp fast enough. Getting out did not work there because she could not back straight.

Those were the days...pulling the Starcraft Starmaster 8 with a Pontiac Stationwagon.

Yep...They did build memories for me and my brothers and sisters.  We had an old Apache Ramada III camper.  The Apache was considered a pop up with hard sides.   The problem we had was always with the corders.  The side columns would not crank up properly and we would have to go to each corner and fix it.

I can relate to the backing.  My father could do the backing okay.  The backing is where my cusing sometimes starts.  I also love to provide the entertainment for the other campers that have already set up their camps and i get there late.

Fun times for sure !!

John welcome to COTOC!  Sorry I haven't been online sooner to welcome you here.  If you are interested in join us on any/all of the trips just make a reservation and post your site number.  For the Winter Madness trip we will not need reservations.  The campground will not be full, at least I don't think so.:)

I just checked the Pine Grove website, and they now have this posted:

Our KOA News

Valentine's Weekends

Reserve your kabin or kampsite February 9th-11th, 16th-18th. Join us in our restaurant for a special dinner. Call for more information.

So now at least the sites are included in something. lol.  Also, I would really, really like to hit Golden Corral again one night.  We will be arriving Wed around 5pm, and leaving Sunday when we get popped down - I am figuring noon to 1pm.  Can't wait to see you guys again!  :D

HersheyGirl

Hey Rick, do you know how much the camping cabins are going to cost with the special?  They usually cost 50 to 60 dollars a night and was wondering if they will be on special.  Thanks.

tlhdoc

Rick I want to go to Golden Corral too.  I love that place.  I plan on going to the campground on Thursday after work.  I have Friday off as a vacation day.  If our school district doesn't have any snow make up days DS is off Friday and Monday too.  If he has to go to school on Friday I will have to go pick him up.  Is anyone planning to stay until Monday?  I can't wait to camp again and see everyone!:D

Cheryl

Hey Tracey (and the rest of the group),
Bob and I are seriously talking about joining everyone at Pine Grove. He said he would probably uncover the Roo next weekend so I can get it repacked. Yeah! The only thing that would stop us is some seriously bad weather, so keep your fingers crossed. And hope to see ya there. We would come for Friday to Monday. And I'm interested in eating in a restaurant every night!!!!!!!!! LOL
Hope to see ya soon,
Cheryl

Looking forward to see you in a few weeks.  I am the same, only bad weather will keep me from going. Golden Corral one meal and the campground restaurant for another. If we go to Cabalas we could eat a meal there too. I also plan on eating breakfast in the campground restaurant the morning I leave. I saw the menu for the holiday meal special when I ate breakfast in the restaurant in January. They have a choice of lobster tail, prime rib (2 sizes), and stuffed chicken breast, all different prices.

copcarguy

This is sounding less and less like a camping trip and more and more like a restaurant trip.  LOL!

DiW

Wow, this is sounding like my kind of trip. I wish I could go but timing's bad. As it is, I'm supposed to be in Ohio that weekend but may have to cancel if Chris needs me at home. Have fun guys.

copcarguy

Can't wait for this trip!

Di - how's Chris doing?
