San Clemente SB Jul 20-22 '07 Blufftop Group Site

Hi Everybody.  I'll both post this and IM everybody that had expressed interest.  Unfortunately I can't edit the original post so hopefully everyone will either read the bottom of the thread or their IM.

As I mentioned in the last post, it comes to $38 per family.  I would appreciate it if everyone in the first 10 could send me a check.  Address is at the bottom of the IM.

Vikings pulled out of the waiting list.  With just 12 total including the waiting list I really think we will be fine with everyone planning to attend.  Especially considering the chances of people having to cancel for one reason or another.

I just got a check this morning from Howard & Lois.  Someone tell me which PUT id they are. (on edit Dee let me know they're "Hatlet".  That was my guess by elimination.  I know ID's and I know faces but it's the names that get me.

Just curious, Jim. Our HTT is 31" by 20" when fully open. Is there going to room for us with this many campers? I've driven by the group camping area of SC before and know how big it is.  Do you think we'll all fit?

well, I already know what it looks like. I used to live in San Clemente for almost 8 years, so I'm pretty familiar w/the area.  I guess that's why I asked.  I'm just thinking (smell the smoke? ) that with all our campers in that space, which isn't humongous or anything, we may be a bit squished?  I suppose it won't hurt to check it out again...

Plenty of room.  31 by 20 inches is quite small.

The main parking area is roughly 70 feet in each direction with at least 8' beyond the wooden curbs for trailer overhang.  There is a second area I've seen people parked in (but not RV's) which is about 50' by 40' or so.

I think we can fit the 10 trailers (including 3 HTT's) in just fine.  It will all work out.  I guarantee it. :S

I have good news and bad news.
 
The good news: it rained on our HTT this weekend and it was like one of those little sponges you put in water and watch grow. It is now 32' x 20' and we can all fit inside and it's much less cramped.
 
The bad news: we drove by the bluff site this weekend and we have doubts that there will be enough room for our big rig as well as everyone else.  We can't camp w/o the awning out, or else my mom won't be able to come out of the camper--she can't sit in the sun or she'll get sun poisoning and become one big blister.  So in deference to mom and communal real estate, we're going to graciously bow out of this rally.

Minor update:
Since GriffsMom says the site is too tite we're down to 9.  I believe the following list is correct.  If those who haven't yet could send a check I'd appreciate it.  Mailing info was PM'ed a while back.

With all the concern over whether there's enough room maybe we ought to keep it at 9 unless someone with a smallish trailer wants to slip in.
