I've been a self employed printer / direct mail marketing consultant for 20+ years. I also publish a little magazine and the directory for the Virginia Campground Association.

Retirement - probably never - I can see being a greeter at Walmart someday.

I am a professional Juggler.......
I own a construction company, a land development company, an internet company and work as a business consultant and executive recruiter.  In my spare time I am on the board of a Christian organization that does outreaches at NASCAR events and the treasurer of the county library board.
In my past life I was a stock broker and VP of sales for a mutual fund company.
My wife stays home and home schools the kids.

I can see the Smokey Mountains from my office and keep the camper ready to pull out any time I find a 2-3 day window to get away.  One of the best camp grounds in the Southeast (in my opinion) is Indian  Boundary in TN's Cherokee National Forest.  I can be there in 30 minutes.

Interesting thread!!  My husband works for Tyco/Simplex Grinnell doing sales and sometimes installation of fire sprinklers (you know -  those things on the ceiling that people tie their kids' birthday pinata to, and end up causing a lot of screaming kids and water damage  ...).

I came from the mortgage industry, but now am a stay at home mom/wifey.

I own a specialty graphics company. We specialize in producing large format outdoor durable banners, billboards, fleet wraps and murals. We do a lot of sporting facilities and special events such as producing banners for this past BCS Championship game in the Superdome. My wife is a teacher in our local elementary school.

Although business is good, I have always put my emphasis on spending time with my family, so I am known when I have no projects pressing to shut it down in the middle of the week and head for the hills for a few days of camping when the urge hits.

I enjoy my work, but I also enjoy my playtime, and I am fortunate to own a business that provides me a good income and the ability to play.

I am a teacher of students with moderate to severe cognitive and physical disabilities. It's the best teaching position I have had. Thirteen years in two public high schools teaching students with learning disabilities....math/sci/eng, etc....and would never go back! My kids appreciate everything you do for them everyday. Sometimes hard to find in high schools!

My wife is an elementary educator in an adjacent building. We get to drive to school together thus saving gas money for....Camping! We've roughed it in tents at the Jamboree in the Hills, (Super Bowl of Country Music) in Belmont, Ohio and local sites in Delaware. Our '73 Starcraft is nearly road-worthy and we'll be venturing out soon with our three youngins! Can't wait!

Hey, I resemble that!;)

I have been the Manager/Director of Engineering for various minor, US based aerospace companies. Actuators/pressure vessel/APU/missiles/flight control design and manufacturing.  Now I'm a Director of Quality at a Bio-based plastics company.

DW is a Psychologist in training, but she is recognized anywhere we go in our neighborhood as the play-yard lady at the school that our kids attend.
