QuoteI like your thinking. Maybe we could just get something fun for the kids. Deidre (Dee4j) is bringing glowsticks again which the kids always enjoy. Any ideas on some other fun kid things?

I think that some camping related prizes would be cool.   I can pick up a cool flashlight or lantern at Walmart to give out as a prize.  Anyone have other ideas?  How many prizes will we give away at the contest?

If the kids are bringing their costumes, then we should have a costume contest as well.  If we break the pumkin and costume contests into three age groups (like 0-5, 6-10, and 11-17) then we will need a total of 6 prizes.  Any thougts on this?

QuoteI think it would be fun to have the kids wear their costumes. I know my kids always want to wear theirs before halloween. Than we could trick or treat around our little group. Maybe every family could bring a bag of candy or something to hand out from their camper. What do you think? Would everyone be up for this?

This is a good idea, except that I don t know if we will survive 50 kids in costumes pumped up on sugar!  Especially since all the kids always end up in MY TRAILER! [:D]   Actually, I think we should do it.  And the costume contest too!

My head count is 2 adults, and 2 small human-like creatures.
The tozier family includes 3 daughters....
The Robinette Family includes 2 daughters.

OK - about T-shirts.  I am still looking for a good place to get them.  I found a place online that gave me a price of about $9 each for a single color printed on front and back and $12.50 for a three color image printed on front and back.  These prices are for cotton short sleeve T-Shirts. Does this seem acceptable?  How many people are going to want shirts?

QuoteI was wondering if we could get a head count so that we know how many kids are coming. I am planning a pinata so I want to make sure it is big enough for all the kids.

I have updated the Attendees page of the rally website to include number of adults and kids for each family.  I ll try to follow the thread and keep it updated, however anyone is welcome to email me directly to update their entry. ( www.sccampers.org/halloween/hallo_a.htm )

Also, anyone who wants to sign up to bring anything for the potluck can email me directly as well.  My email is randy@flindersfamily.com.

GuestRandy, thanks for the t-shirt info.  I will need 2 adult t-shirts size XXL.  It doesn t matter to me the color options either.  I love our rally t-shirts.  I wear them all the time.

 GuestHollypop here-

 2 adults, 2 kids ages 5 and 8

 We d probably take 4 shirts,  1 XL, 1 L, 1 kid size 6-8, 1 kid size 10-12

Dave was thinking if we got black t-shirts he could do artwork in orange, or orange and white. I think it might look cool on a black Halloweeny t-shirt.

I like the trick or treating idea! With so many families at the rally it would be a lot of fun

griffsmom

GuestOur head count: 2 adults and one 3 y/o monkey boy

I like prizes for all the kids since I always think it s about particpation not winners and losers.  Maybe those who are particpating in the costume contest and pumpkin carving contest can bring a prize and that way, everyone who pariticipates in either event (or both) will get something.

Black shirts with orange and white graphics are perfect for a Halloween rally!  [:D]We ll take one XL, one L and if you do kid s sizes, a small youth (4-6?)

Griffin can t wait to do the trick-or treat thing, eat tons of candy, get all hyped up and then cut loose in Randy trailer! [;)]

mrflinders

GuestThe Black shirt with an Orange and White graphic sounds like a great idea.

I got some prices.  Based on 30 shirts the price would be:
$9.50 per shirt for an orange graphic.
$12.00 per shirt for an orange/white graphic.

This is for 100% cotton Gidden T s.  We can move to a 50/50 blend but those tend to be uncomfortable in my opinion.

There is a 2 week lead time so I need to have all the orders in and the graphic available by the end of the month so that I can make sure we have them in time.

 Any comments?

GuestI kind of like the black with white and orange ($12).  But will go with the flow with what everyone else wants.

I  was talking with my friend Penny and she always loved " bobbing for apples"   I thought the kids and maybe adults would get a kick out of that.  So there s another activity to add to our list.

Also, if there is anyone else that wants to come with us, I may be able to come up with another site.  Penny and Greg, our neighbors are in a tent and they said they would double up with us if another family wants to come.

Chez Way

 GuestHi all,
For Chez Way, the attendees will be dh (Jim), ds age 10 and dd age 6.  I m off to Cape Cod Massachussetts for an annual girls  getaway that weekend although I must admit that I m sorry to miss this rally because it sounds like a great time and I love Halloween.

Sign us up for t-shirts...XXL and 2 for the kids size XL and M.

For potluck I m thinking something simple (don t want to overwhelm dh since he is camping solo)...He says he ll bring the DO so maybe a cherry cobbler for the dinner potluck (somebody s got to bring dessert!) and some muffins or pastries for the breakfast potluck.

The contests sound like fun...how about best decorated pop up too?  My dh has some BIG plans.

griffsmom

Chez WayWe like both orange and white for the shirt, so we re willing to pop for the $12 cost.

If I don t have too much going on before the rally, I ll try to make a cake that I had mentioned on another thread...[;)]

Steve-o-bud

GuestHi. The count for the Renteria family aka (Steve-O-Bud)

 2 adults (Steve & Holly)
 2 girls, ages 6 and 9

Suggestion for an activity: How about a Scavenger Hunt? I can help organize it.

Also, to provide for prizes, how about asking each family to bring about 4 small, inexpensive, toys or gift items?

We re still thinking about what would be good to bring for potluck.

GuestBlack shirts w/ orange & white sound fine, whatever you come up with we ll take
1 adult Med. and 1 adult XXL

Bobbing for apples??? As I ve gotten older I have a thing about germs. something about peoples faces and spit in a bucket doesn t seem appealing. I know its a traditional game but my kids will pass on this one.

GuestDUH!!! I forgot to check to see if I was still logged in...the above " guest"  is me
