Good. Gave my FL brother a break. My mom is getting settled in her new (smaller) house. She has less to deal with. She's able to manage if things are simple and stress-free (she had a brain hemorrhage last spring). I helped her move stuff from my parents' house (and donate a ton of stuff). She just needs her pictures hung and she's all set to go at this point.

My dad was released from the hospital (was in intensive care with bad case of pneumonia). He was only released if he agreed to go to an assisted living place. He had been looking at places so the timing was good. He has this great apt - 2 studio apts put together actually so he has lots of room and he overlooks the water (beautiful view). Not far from my mom so she's there a lot. Definitely not a nursing home. The dining room/restaurant is a real plus - he gets filet mignon, crabcakes, etc. ANything he wants. He said they even serve beer or wine, if you want. I didn't get to eat there coz when I was there, he had meals brought in and a nurse still coming to visit him daily (for the 1st week out of the hospital). Hardest part is getting to the dining room in his wheelchair. It's carpeted whereas their house was tile. He's trying to use his motorized wheelchair but it's much bigger and he's having trouble controlling it. Both folks seem to be settling in. One of my reasons for going was to give my brother a break but he was busy as ever (just not with my parents). He decided to buy my parents house, so he's pushing things along. Already painted his house and got it on the market while I was down there...

It was stressful making the decisions, but once they decided what to do, it seems to have fallen into place. Sad that they couldn't stay in their house but my dad refused to have a live-in nurse. My mom just couldn't keep doing everything for him.

I am glad you had a safe trip and that they are doing ok.:)

At this point, I do not know about Saturday, I will be in NYC on Friday and will not get home until late.  I will not be alone...there will be 4 or 5 of us ladies going to see our favorite feller and get a book signed (I ordered 2 more of his "art/photo/poetry" books though I do not care much for of them) the only art I want to see is 5'11 1/2 tall and VERY 3-dimensional...AND maybe I'll be lucky and get to see Dee and Ken and say hi. It takes a lot to get me up to the BIG CITY...and they are the only ones I know there, so I gotta say hi!!

Becky I know Sarah is a Viggo fan (not as much of a fanatic as me I am sure), I e-mailed her to see if she wants to go with me, but she never answered, ask her to check her e-mails.

If I am not too tired after my foray to the City, I may head up on Saturday for a day trip...

Di, am glad to hear that your parents are doing OK. I know it could be better, but as we age, we have to make the hard choices. I can see that coming with Raymond.
He is not holding up well under the stress with Jeffrey, the one daughter divorced her husband and he keeps her in court harrassing. Now the other daughter, Donna, the one who was with at RJ Ranch seperated from her husband,,,the one with all the tattos also at RJ ranch, and is calling us at least 6 or 7 times a day.  She is used to total control and is going bonkers having to make her own decisions. She got the hous (paid for for a year), a car, the electric bill paid for. e is keeping basic cable on for the kids and the phone, at least for a while and gives her $400/month, she gets $400/month from her ex for the eldest daughter...Raymond says she is getting the shaft...and has been sending her $$$ as well as paying bills for the other daughter who is laid off..ARRRRRRRRRG. I do not know what these gorls (women as they are now 35) are going to do when he retires from his job and our income is cut considerably...BTW, he is 69 and still works full time.

Hey guys... I'm thinking about bringing the camper up from the backyard tomorrow morning and tucking it in the driveway before we get the 12+ inches of snow that's being predicted... I SO need this trip, I hope we are able to go! Stephie gets out early Fri and we should be there between 6 and 7 Fri night.  Looks like they're predicting rain/snow for that Sat as well...

Rick I hope the weather doesn't match the long range forecast.  I have been watching it for several days and if it is just cold I will go, but if it will be wet I will not go.  I would worry about the ability to get the tenting dried out.:(  I hope the long range forecast changes and the weather matches it.:)

Hello friends
I sure hope the weather forecast is wrong about the rain.I don't mind the cold or some snow, but rain would really be a trip breaker.
I'm going out to the pop up now and open it,haven't had a chance yet since I picked it up from the roof replacement.
We plan on getting to the campground early in the day on friday and plan to stay until monday, since we're both are off from work.
I did not make reservations yet, have you?
I believe I was at site N46 is that area good for you or did you have something else in mind?

Andy I didn't make reservations yet, and I don't think anyone else has either.  I know Rick wants to be in the back by the log cabin bathroom.  If this weekend doesn't work is there another on that is good for you?  March 11th is out for us.  It is the Boy Scout Spaghetti Dinner and DS will be working from 7 am until about 9 pm with a break in the middle of the day.:)

I'm keeping my eye on it too! If we come, we'll leave Friday morning and arrive early PM -- my son has off Friday. We'll leave Monday morning though -- my son and his friend both have indoor soccer in the late afternoon. Got my Popup Gizmos and ready to try them out!

We'll just keep our eye's on the weather channel and decide as we get closer to the weekend.
March is also a possibility, but this coming weekend is more convenient because it's 4 day's long.

I was chatting with Rick on AIM a little bit ago.  I was checking Accu Weather and he was checking weather.com.  They seem to disagree.  Weather.com says showers on Friday and then Sun.  I like that forecast.  Accu Weather says sunny Friday and Monday, snow Sat and Sun.:yikes:   So who knows.:)

tlhdoc

OK I hope the wetness of the forecast doesn't change.  As of this morning both Accuweather and Weather.com both say chance of rain on Friday and dry the rest of the weekend.:)   I hope things don't get wetter.  If they get warmer I wouldn't complain.  Now I just have to find my new break away brake switch.:)

Hey Guys!

I got Sunday and Monday off due to some miracle.  I cannot believe I have a FOUR day weekend coming up!  Unless it's a blizzard, I am going no matter what.  I am stressed out, and need some camper time.  I don't care if it rains - I'll be sitting on the couch watching a movie...

Does anyone want to visit Cabela's / Coleman Outlet / Bass Pro?  I know Cabelas has that restaurant inside so that would save making one meal...  lol
